Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We do hand coloring, and provide a set of hi-res high contrast black & white and sepia toned images. We also provide custom designed wedding albums and beautifully designed web slideshows with every package!

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We are experienced in all lighting situations, but the best shots are done in natural light conditions!

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
No. We work on one wedding per weekend. We may do multiple engagement shoots on a weekend, but not two in the same day.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, we have four photographers in our partnership, and any can become available in case the primary is not available.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Multiple flash units, multiple cameras and lenses, and backdrop & lights if the situation calls for it

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We carry two of everything. You'll never be in a situation where we can't shoot because of equipment malfunction.

Do you charge for travel?
Yes, there is a travel fee for anything outside of a 1hr radius of the Chicagoland area.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Within 2 weeks.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
DVD-ROM

How long can the client keep the proofs?
Your disc is yours to keep.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes. All our packages include a disc of original images taken on the day, plus a Black & White or Sepia set depending on preference.

What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer custom designed digital albums, in 10x10, 8x12 and 9x13 sizes (and others if needed) with a variety of options including page type, ink type and covers from leather, metal or crystal glance

When will the client get the final album?
We do not publish until we have your approval on the design. Once you have picked your images, your album is prepared and we go through 2 rounds of review & redesign. Once that is finalized, it takes 4 - 6 weeks to publish and receive the book, ready for your pickup.

Tips and Advice
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff!
Your wedding day will be over in a flash, and you may be left wondering how something you were planning for so long went by so quickly!

So, our advice is: Don't Sweat It! On the day of the wedding, just let go and enjoy yourself... Five years from now, you may not remember what color the flowers on the tables at the reception... but Twenty years from now, you'll remember how it was feeling walking down the aisle!

Delegate!
Find a reliable person (even if you already have a wedding planner) and make that person the designated contact for ALL your vendors on the day of the wedding. That way small things can be handled, and if there are three of four things that really need your attention, they can be brought to you by ONE person at a convenient time (as opposed to multiple people at multiple times!)
