Tips and Advice
The day will be hectic enough! Here are some tips to make the day more successful. Sometimes the most obvious details can be forgotten so write your own wedding photography check list, compare it to others and ask, ask, ask. You can rest assured with our 31 plus years of first hand experience. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CANDID & POSED PHOTOGRAPHY? Posed wedding photography & family portraits are composed of people, background, & sometimes a foreground, hence the traditional method. This sounds time consuming but it only takes seconds with the right photographer managing everyone throughout the day with simple & specific instructions realizing the client's goals. Candid Photography is created on the run so to say. The photographer moves in the affair, with & without you, capturing the events from start to finish, creating a sequence resembling a video in stills. This versatile photographer must adapt for each moment. Some people photograph better when they’re unaware of the camera. Our "Editorial" approach blends both methods to ensure balance and greater satisfaction. OUTDOOR SETTING OR STUDIO, WHICH IS BETTER? Outdoor Photography is always an excellent choice. Lakes, parks, & scenic backdrops add to your photographs. Outdoor shots can be made all year. A fresh snowfall or a setting sun can add power to your portraits. You must be prepared for the unexpected, Mother Nature! You can’t control weather conditions. We’re always prepared for such an event and will offer wise solutions. Studio Photography means going to a specific location, using props & possibly more complicated lighting. Most studio photography will give a more formal look to the photographs. You are also assured that Mother Nature won’t interrupt your day. Tip: This is time consuming. Your taste is in the drivers seat. DOES BLACK & WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY ADD IMPACT TO AN IMAGE? Yes black and white makes very strong impressions. We can combine black and white, color & Sepia-tone photography to take your wedding images to another level. You taste rules and our digital previews make choosing easy. Black and White photographs with colored aspects are available as you want them. SPECIAL EFFECTS...which one is good for me? Special effects photography can be used in a variety of ways. Diffusion filters soften images changing the mood of a photograph and can diffuse unwanted features. Other filters can change the mood, warming it up like a sunset or cooling it like a snowy day. Using multiple lights adds depth to a portrait, with dramatic shadows, hair-lights and more. Wedding Photography Tips and guidance are given before, during and after the big day. |
